Great Granny’s Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
 1 cup granulated sugar, plus more for topping cookies
 1 cup powdered sugar
 1 cup vegetable oil
 2 eggs
 2 tsp vanilla extract
 5 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
 1 tsp baking soda
 1 tsp cream of tartar
 ¼ tsp salt

​Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined. Mix in flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt until soft dough forms.

Roll dough into small balls, or use medium cookie scoop, and place 2-inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Flatten each ball with a glass that has been dipped in sugar.

Bake for 10-13 minutes or until edges start to brown. Cool on wire racks. Store in airtight container.
