Caramel Apple Bars

Caramel Apple Bars

 1 ¼ cups unsalted butter, softened
 1 cup packed brown sugar
 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
 2 cups quick-cooking oats
 1 tsp baking soda
 ½ tsp salt
 8 oz caramel apple dip
 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
 1 pkg. squeeze applesauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease bottom and sides of 9x13-inch pan.


In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar. Add flour, oats, soda, and salt until well combined and crumbly. Press 3/4 of the mixture into prepared pan to form crust.


Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and spread caramel apple dip evenly over warm crust. Top with apples and applesauce. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over apples.


Bake an additional 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
